J A PROCLAMATION. - Whemas, the Olympic Forest Reserve in the State of Washington P"“f""“°j _ ‘ was established by dproclamation dated February twenty-second; gi i>-$09}**- eighteen hundred an ninety-seven, under and by [virtue of section twenty-four of the Act of Conpress, approved March third, eighteen _ hundred and ninety-one, enti ed, "An act to rppgal timber-culture v°l‘°°"‘u°°`* laws,_and for other purposes ", which provides, " t the President of the United States, may, from time to time, set apart and reserve, in any State or Territory having public lands bearing forests, in any part of · the public lands wholly or in part covered with timber or undergrowth, whether of commercial value or not, as igzblic reservations, and the President shall, by public roclamation lare the establishment of such reservations and the limits thereofi’; And whereas, it is further plrovided by the Act of Congress, approved June fourth, eighteen hun red and ninety-seven, entitled ‘ n act V°l‘°°·"°°‘ making appropriations for sundry civil exppnses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eiprteen hundred and ninety- - eight, and for other purposes", that "The esident is hereby authorized at any time to modify any Executive order that has been or may hereafter be made establishing any forest reserve, and by such moditication may reduce the area or change the boundary lines of such reserve, or may vacate altogether any order creating such reserve "· under which tprovision, certain lands were withdrawn and excluded from the orest reserve by proclamation dated April seventh, nineteen hundr ‘ Now, therefore, I, William McKinley, President of the United ,,$£`?°vi’i‘§h1i,‘§Q’i3¤i*°` States, by virtue of the power vested in me by the aforesaid act of Congress, approved June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, do hereby make known and proclaim that the boundary lines of the aforesgid Olyimpic Forest Reserve are hereby further changed so as to re as fol 0ws:. .
