Whereas, it iwovided by section twenty-four of the Act of Con- ${g**&b'¤·,m gress.approved rchthird, eighteen hundred andninety-one, entitled,'p` "An act to repeal timber-culture laws, and for other purposes", ‘ ‘ That the President of the United States may, from time to time, set apart and reserve, in any State or Territory having public land bearin forests, in any part of the public lands wholly or in part covered with timber or un ergrowth, whether of commercial value or not, as ublic reservations, an the President shall, by public proclamation, dpeclare the establishment of such reservations and) the limits thereof "; And whereas, the public lands in the Territory of Arizona, within the limits hereinafter described, are in part covered with timber, and it appears that the public good would be promoted by setting apart and reserving said lands as a public reservation; Now, therefore, I, THEODOBE R.oosEvE1.·r, President of the United $<>¤=¤ ¤>=¤m. Ari- States, by virtue of the power in me vested by section twenty-four of m a' the aforesaid Act of Congress, do hereby make known and proclaim that there is hereby reserved from entry or settlement and set apart as a Public Reservation all those certain tracts, pieces or parcels of land lying and being situate in the Territory of Arizona. and within the boun aries particularly described as follows, to wit: Beginning at the south-west corner of Section twenty~one (21), Town- B°“““"*°’· ship seven (7) South, Range twenty-two (22) East, Gila and Salt River Meridian, Arizona; thence easterly along the section lines to the southeast corner of Section twenty-four (24), said township; thence southerly to the south-west corner of Township seven (7) South, Range twenty- three (23) East; thence easterglalon the township line to the north-west corner of Township eight (8) uth,Pange twenty-five (25) East; thence southerly to the south-west corner of Section seven (7), said township; thence easterly along the section lines to the south-east corner of Section nine (9), said township; thence southerly along the section lines to the south-west corner of Section twenty-two (22), said townshi ; thence easterly to the south-east corner of said section; thence southerly along the surveyed and unsurveyed section lines to the int for the intersection with the Second (2nd) Standard Parallel South? thence westerly along the said parallel to the south-east corner of Township ten (10) South, Range twenty-three (23) East; thence northerly along the range line to the int of intersection with the southern boundary of the Camp Grant glilitary Reservation'; thence in a general northeasterly, north-westerly and south-westerly direction along the boundary of the said military reservation to the point of intersection with the township line between Townshipls eight (8) and nine (9) South; thence westerly along the said towns ip line to the south·east corner of Section thirty-four (3+), Township eight (8) South, Range twenty- two (22) East; thence northerly along the section lines to the north-east corner of Section twenty-seven (27), said township; thence westerly to the north—west corner of said section; thence northerly to the north-east corner of Section twenty-one (21), said township; thence westerly to the north-west corner of said section; thence northerly along` the section lines to the south-west corner of Section twenty-one (21)., ownship seven (7) South, Range twenty-two (22) East, the place of beginnin .
