Taft, President of the United States ·$g¤3*},*¤¤3*g¤¤¤· of America, by virtue of the power in me vested by the Act of Congress 'p` ` alpgtgoved June fourth, eighteen hundred and mnety-seven, entitled . ‘ Act Making] aigpropriations for sundry civil ex enses of the Government for the cal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other purposes," do proclaim that the boundaries of the Pend Oreille National Forest are hereby changed and that they are now as shown on the diagram forming a part hereof. This proclamation shall not prevent the settlement and entry of any lands heretofore opened to settlement and entry under the Act of °' '°‘ ' Congress aipproved June eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, entitled "An Act o provide for the entry of Agricultural lands within forest ° reserves." ' The lands hereby excluded from the Pend Oreille National Forest p`};ggd;m*g;°M ¤¤ which are not embraced in withdrawals for administrative sites for ` use in the man ment of the Forest, or in any other reservation or ’ appropriation, $$3.11 be restored to the public domain and become sulliject to settlement under the general provisions of the homestead laws on such date and after such notice by publication as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but shall not become subject to entry, filing, selection, or other form ofappropriation until the expiration of thirty days from the date so fixed, and no person will be permitted to gain or exercise any right whatever under any settlement or occupation begunprior to suc date, and all such settlement and occupation are hereby orbidden. _ ‘ It is not intended by this proclamation to release any land from ·*¤•••¤•°*•¤· reservation except the areas indicated on the diagram as eliminated, nor to reserve an land not heretofore embraced in a National Forest.
