DIPLOMAT IC AND C ONSULAR ESTABLISH MENTS, T OKYO, JAP AN For the acquisition in Tokyo, Japan, of additional land adjoining the site of the former American Embassy and such other land as may be necessary, and the construction thereon of suitable buildings for the use of the diplomatic and consular establishments of the United States, the said buildings to include residences for the diplo- matic and consular representatives, and the furnishing of the same, as provided in the Act entitled "An Act to authorize the Secretary of State to enlarge the site and erect buildings thereon for the use of the diplomatic and consular establishments of the United States in Tokyo, Japan," approved February 21, 1925, $250,000 : Provided, That the unexpended balances of the appropriations for the acquisi- tion of diplomatic and consular establishments, Tokyo, Japan, avail- able for the fis cal year 1 928, are hereby made available for the purposes of this paragraph, all of which shall remain available until expended : Provided further, That within the limit of cost fixed by the Act of February 21, 1925, for the acquisition of land, construction of buildings, and furnishing the same, the Secretary of State is authori zed to enter i nto co ntracts for th e cons tructio n of th e buil dings authorized by the Act .
