Investigating atmospheric phenomena : For an additional amount for the maintenance of stations, for observing, measuring, and inves- tigating atmospheric phenomena, including the same objects specified under this head in the Agricultural Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 1930, $350,000, of which amount not to exceed $8,820 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia . For an additional amount for investigations, observations and reports, forecasts, warnings, and advices for the protection of horti- cu ltural intere sts, in cludin g the s ame obj ects s pecifie d under this head in the Agricultural Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 19 29, fiscal years 1929 and 1930, $7,500. The s um of $10,000 of the approp riation " Sal arie s an d ex pens es, Weather Bureau, 1930," contained in the Act making appropriations for the Depart ment of Agric ulture for th e fiscal year ending June 30, 1930, is hereby transferred to the appropriation for the Coast Guard " for compensation of civilian employees in the field, and so forth," contained in the Act making appropriations for the Treasury and Post Office Departments for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1930, approved December 20, 1928 . Dry-Land Field Station, Tucumcari, New Mexico : For the con- struction of new buildings and the repair and replacement of exist- ing ones at the United States Dry-Land Field Station at Tucumcari, New Mexico, fiscal years 1929 and 1930, $25,000. Wilt-resistant varieties of alfalfa : For foreign agricultural explo- rations with e special refer ence to the s ecuring of wil t-resistant varieties of alfalfa, including personal services and other necessary expenses in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, fiscal years 1929 and 1930, $10,000. Horticultural crops and diseases : For investigation and control of diseases, and so forth, including the same objects specified under this head in the Agricultural Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 1930, with special reference to black walnut investigations in the Middle West, fiscal year 1930, $5,000.
