137 [CHAPTER 67 .1 AN ACT Granting the consent of Congress to the State of Oregon to construct, maintain

June 13 .1933. [S . 1748.] and oerate a toll bridge across Coos Bay at or near North Bend, Coos County, [Public, No . 46 .1-- Oregon . Be it enac ted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of Ame rica in Cong ress ass embl ed, That the c onsen t of Congress is hereby granted to the State of Oregon to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across Coos Bay, at a poi nt sui table to the inter ests of navig ation, at or near North Bend, Coos County, Oregon, in accordance with the provisions of an Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters ", approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act . SEC . 2 . If tolls are charged for the use of such bridge, the rates of toll shall be so adjusted as to provide a fund sufficient to pay the reasona ble co st of mainta ining, repai ring, a nd ope rating the b ridge and i ts ap proac hes under econ omic al ma nagem ent, and to pr ovide a sinking fund sufficient to amortize the cost of the bridge and its approaches, including reasonable interest and financing cost, as soon as possible under reasonable charges, but within a period of not to exceed fifteen years from the completion thereof. After a sinking fund suff icient fo r such am ortizatio n shall h ave been so provid ed, such bridge shall thereafter be maintained and operated free of tolls, or the rates of toll shall thereafter be so adjusted as to provide a fund of not to exceed the amount necessary for the proper maintenance, repair, and operation of the bridge, and its approaches under eco- nomical management . An ac curate recor d of t he cos ts of the bri dge and its approaches, the expenditures for maintaining, repairing, and operating the same , and of the daily tolls co llected, shall be kept and shall be available for the information of all persons interested .
