provide a uniform rule for the naturalization of aliens throughout the United States ", as amended by section 1 of the Act entitled "An Act to amend the naturalization laws and to repeal certain sec- tions of the Revised Statutes of the United States and other laws relating to naturalization, and for other purposes ", approved May 9, 1918 (U . [CHAPTER 247 .] JOI NT R ESOL UTIO N E xten ding the effective period of the Eme rgen cy R ailr oad Tran spor tati on A ct, 1933 Resolved by the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That Title I of the Emergency Railroad Transportation Act, 1933, shall continue in full force and effect until June 17, 1936, but orders of the Coor- dinator or of the Commission made thereunder shall continue in effect until vacated by the Commission or set aside by other lawful authority, but notwithstanding the provisions of section 10, no such orde r shall operate to relie ve any c arrier f rom the effect of any S tate law or of any order of a State commission enacted or made after this title ceases to have effect . SEC . 2. That it shall be the duty of each carrier to pay into the fund provided for by section 14 of the Emergency Railroad Trans- portation Act, 1933, within twenty days after June 16, 1935, $2 for every mile of road operated by it on December 31, 1934, as reported to the Commission, and it shall be the duty of the Secretary of the Treasury to collect such assessments .
