729 possible under reasonable charges, but within a period of not to exceed thirty years from the completion thereof . After a sinking f und sufficient to pay the cost of constructing the bridge and its approaches shall have been provided, such bridge shall thereafter be maintained and operated free of tolls, or the rates of toll shall thereafter be so adjusted as to provide a fund of not to exceed the amount necessary for the proper care, repair, maintenance, and operation of the bridge and its approaches . An accurate record of the cost of the bridge and its approaches, the expenditures for operat- ing, repairing, and maintaining the same, and of the daily tolls collected shall be kept and shall be available for the information of all ~~persons interested . AN ACT August 23, 1935 . To amend section 6 of title I of the Act entitled "An Act to maintain the credit [x .3069 .1 of the Unit ed St ates Govern ment" , app roved March 20, 1933, as amended ; [Public, No . 312.1 to extend the time within which applications for benefits under the World War Adjusted Compensation Act, as amended, may be filed ; and for other purposes . Be it en acted by the Sen ate and House o f Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 6 of the Act of March 20, 1933 (Public, Numbered 2, Seventy-third Con- gress), as amended by the Act of June 16, 1933 (Public, Numbered 78, Seventy-third Congress), and the Act of March 28, 1934 (Public, Numbered 141, Seventy-third Congress) (38 U. S. C. 706), is hereby amended to read as follows " SEC. 6 . I n addition to the pensions provide d in this title t he A dministrator of V eterans' Affairs is hereby authori zed under such l imitations as he may prescribe, an d within the limi ts of existing V etera ns' A dminis trati on fa ciliti es, t o fur nish to men disc harge d from t he Army, N avy, Mari ne Corps, or Coast Guard for disabiliti es incu rred in line of duty or to those in receipt of pension for service- connected disability, and to veterans of any war, including the Boxer R ebel lion and the Phil ippi ne In surr ecti on, d omic ilia ry c are w here they are suffering with permanent disabilities, tuberculosis, or neuro- psychiatric ailments and medical and hospital treatment for diseases or injuries : Provided, Th at any veteran of any war who was not dish onorably discharged, suffering from disability, disease, or defect, who is in need of hospitalization or domiciliary care and is unable to defray the necessary expenses therefor (including transportation to and from the Veterans Administration facility), shall be fur- n ished nece ssary hospi taliz ation or do micil iary care ( inclu ding trans- portation) in any Veterans' Administration facility, within the limitations existing in such facilities, irrespective of whether the disability, disease, or defect was due to service . The statement under oath of the applicant on such form as may be prescribed by the A dministrator of V eterans' Affairs shall be accepted as sufficient evidence of inability to defray necessary expenses ." SEC . 2 . Subdivsions 1 (b) and (c) of section 302, section 311, and sub division ( b) of sect ion 604 o f the Worl d War Adj usted Com- pensa tion Act, as amen ded, are amended, to take effect a s of Janu- ary 2, 1935, by striking out "January 2, 1935 ", wherever it appe ars in such subdivisions and section, and inserting in lieu thereof "Jan- uary 2, 1940 ". 1 So in original .
