Salar ies a nd ex pens es of dist rict atto rneys , and so forth : For salaries and expenses of United States district attorneys and their regular assistants, clerks, and other employees, including the office expenses of United States district attorneys in Alaska, and for salaries of regularly appointed clerks to United States district attorneys for services rendered during vacancy in the office of the United States district attorney, $2,918,500 . Salaries and expenses of special attorneys, and so forth : For com- pensation of special attorneys and assistants to the Attorney General and to United States district attorneys employed by the Attorney General to aid in special cases, and for payment of foreign counsel employ ed by the At torney Gener al in special cases , $927 ,000, no par t of which, except for payment of foreign counsel, shall be used to pay the compensation of any persons except attorneys duly licensed and authori zed to pract ice un der th e laws of any State , . Territ ory, or the District of Columbia : Provided, That the amount paid as compensa- tion out of the funds herein appropriated to any person employed hereunder shall not exceed the rate of $10,000 per annum

further, That reports be submitted to the Congress on the 1st day of July and January showing the names of the persons employed hereunder, the annual rate of compensation or amount of any fee paid to each together with a description of their duties . Salaries and expenses, clerks of courts : For salaries of clerks of United States circuit courts of appeals and United States district courts, their deputies, and other assistants, and expenses of conduct- ing their respective offices, $2,170,000 . Fees of commissioners : For fees of the United States commis- sioners and other committing magistrates acting under section 1014, Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 18, sec . 591), $320,000 . Co ncili atio n com missi oners , Un ited State s co urts : For fees of conciliation commissioners, as authorized by the Act entitled "An Act to amend an Act entitled An Act to establish a uniform system of bankruptcy throughout the United States', approved July 1, 1898, and Acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto", approved March 3, 1933, as amended, $105,000 : Provided, That none of the money appropriated herein shall be used to pay the statutory fee of any conciliation commissioner until the case for which the fee is provided shall have been finally disposed of, and not more than one fee shall be paid in any one case . Fees of jurors and witnesses : For mileage and per diems of jurors ; for mileage and per diems of witnesses and for per diems in lieu of subsistence ; and for payment of the expenses of witnesses, as provided by section 850, Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 28, sec . 604 ), inc luding the e xpense s, mil eage, and per diems of wi tnesse s on behalf of the Government before the United States Customs Court, such payments to be made on the certification of the attorney for Juro rs nesses .
