Printing and bind- ing . 75TH CONGRESS, 1ST SESSION-CH . 396-JUNE 28, 1937 FEDERAL HOUSING ADMINISTRATION Not to exceed $10,000,000 of the funds advanced by the Recon- struction Finance Corporation to the Federal Housing Administra- tion, create d under autho rity of the N ational Housin g Act of June 27, 1934 (48 Stat ., p . 1246), shall be available during the fiscal year 1938 for administrative expenses of the Administration, including Personal services in the District of Columbia and elsewhere ; travel expenses, in accordance with the Standardized Government Travel Regulations and the Act of June 3, 1926, as amended (U . S . C ., title 5, sets . 8 21-8 33), except employees engaged in the inspection of property may be paid an allowance not to exceed 4 cents per mile for all trav el performed by motor vehi cle in connect ion with such inspection ; printing and binding ; law books,, books of reference, and not to exceed $1,500 for periodicals and newspapers ; not to exceed $1,500 for contract actuarial services ; procurement of supplies, equip- ment, and se rvices ; maintenance, repair, and operation of motor- propelled passenger-carrying vehicles, to be used only f or offi cial purposes ; payment, when specifically authorized by the Admin- istrator, of actual transportation expenses and not to exceed $10 per diem in lieu of subsistence and other expenses to persons serving, while away from their homes, without other compensation from the United States, in an advisory capacity to the Administration ; not to exceed $2,000 for expenses of attendance, when specifically authorized by the Administrator, at meetings concerned with the work of the Administration ; typewriters, adding machines, and other labor- saving devices, including their repair and exchange ; rent in the District of Co lumbia and el sewhere ; and all oth er n eces sary adm in- istrative expenses : Provided, That all necessary expenses (including services performed on a contract or fee basis, but not including other personal services) in connection with the operation, main- tenance, impro vement, or di sposition of real or person al property of the Administration acquired under authority of title II of said Nation al Hou sing A ct, s hall b e cons idered as nonadm inistrative expenses for the purposes hereof, and shall be paid from the mutual mortgage insurance fund created by said Act : Provided urt her, That except for the limitations in amounts hereinbef ore specified, and the restrictions in respect to travel expenses, the ad mini stra tive expenses and other obligations of the Administration shall be incurred, allowed, and paid in accordance with the provisions of said Act of June 27, 1934, as amended (U. S. C., title 12, sees . 1701-1723) : Provided further, That not exceeding $3 00,0 00 of the sum herein authorized to be advanced from the Reconstruction Finance Corpor ation shall b e expended in the District of Columbia during the fiscal year 1938 for purposes of the Public Relations and Education Division . RECONSTRUCTION FINANCE CORPORATION Not to exceed $9,500,000 of the funds of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, established by the Act of January 22, 1932 (47 Stat., p. 5), shall be available during the fiscal year 1938 for administrative expenses of the Corporati on, and of the RFC' Mort- gage Company, including personal services in the District of Columbia and elsewhere ; travel expenses, in accordance with the Standardized Government Travel Regulations and the Act of June 3, 1926, as amended (U. S. C., title 5, sees. 821-833) ; printing and binding ; law books, books of reference, and not to exceed $500 for periodicals and newspapers ; procurement of supplies, equ ipm ent ,
