Be it enacted by the Senate, and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to John H. Wykle, of Bryson City, North Carolina, the sum of $750 in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for injuries sustained while acting at the request and upon the summons of a United States prohibition officer, on December 11, 1930, in making a raid for the purpose of apprehending persons violating the laws of the United States: Provided, That no part of the amount appropri- ated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of serv- ices rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, July 8, 1937. [CHAPTER 453] AN ACT For the relief of H. E. Wingard. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the clerk of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia is hereby authorized and directed to satisfy, of record, the judgment obtained by the United States in April 1935 against H. E . Wingard, of Augusta, Georgia, who is hereby relieved of all liability to the United States for the payment of said judgment, which was entered against him as surety on the recognizance bond of Stoy Lamar, who failed to appear for trial on a charge of violation of the Harrison Narcotic Act, but who was subsequently apprehended through the efforts and at the expense of said H.
