Mast and William Lee Mast. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury allocated by the President for the maintenance and operation of the Civilian Conservation Corps, to Malinda J. Mast and William Lee Mast, of McKinley, Oregon, the sum of $350 in full satisfaction of their claim against the United States for damages for personal injuries suffered on May 19, 1934, about one mile north from where the Norway-Lee County Road leaves the Coquille-Myrtle Point State Highway, in Coos County, Oregon, when the automobile in which said Malinda J. Mast and William Lee Mast were riding was struck by a motor truck owned by the United States and driven by Lem Reynolds, an employee of the Civilian Conservation Corps: Provided, That no part of the amount appro- priated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, April 7, 1937. [CHAPTER 81] AN ACT For the relief of J. H . Richards. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury allocated by the President for the maintenance and operation of the Civilian Conservation Corps, to J. H. Richards, of Collinsville, Alabama, the sum of $5,000. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims against the United States for damages sustained by the said J. H. Richards on account of the loss of his minor child, Evelyn Richards, who was struck and killed on September 4, 1934, near Collinsville, Alabama, by an auto- mobile in the service of the Civilian Conservation Corps: Provided That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon convic- tion thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
