The minimum number of sets of davits to be provided to each of which must be attached a boat of Class I in accordance with Regulation XXXVIII above. (B.) The smaller number of sets of davits which may be authorised exceptionally under Regulation XXXVIII. (C.) The minimum life-boat capacity required, including the life- boats attached to davits and the additional boats, in accordance with Regulation XXXVIII. (D.) Note on (C) and (D). - For the purposes of this table the capacity of a boat of Class II s obtained by multiplying the number of persons for which the boat is certified by 0. 283 to obtain the capacity in cubic metres and by 10 to obtain the capacity in cabic feet. Note on (D).- When the length of a ship is under 31 metres (equivalent to 100 feet) or over 188 metres (equivalent to o0 feet) the cubic capacity of the lifeboats shall be prescribed by the Administration.
