"Family" con- It is understood that through- strued. out this Contract, the term "fam- ily" is limited to mean the wife and dependent children of Lieu- tenant Colonel Christian. - XVI - Allotment to cover The Government of El Salvador customs duties and tses. shall allot in the budget of the Ministry of National Defense an annual sum of nine hundred dol- lars ($900.00) to pay the customs duties on articles imported by Lieutenant Colonel Christian for his personal use and for the use of his family, as well as to cover any tax or taxes imposed by the Salvadoran Government on the compensation, pay or allowances received by Lieutenant Colonel Christian, it being understood -XV - El Gobierno de El Salvador proporcionara al sefior Teniente Coronel Christian y su familia, los pasajes maritimos, en primera clase, en sus viajes de venida y regreso que hara de acuerdo con este Contrato. Los gastos de transporte por mar y tierra del equipaje y efectos de la casa del senor Teniente Coronel Christian, incluyendo autom6vil, de la ciudad de New York a San Salvador y viceversa, seran pagados tambien por el Gobierno de El Salvador. En estos gastos estAn incluidos, desde luego, los incidentales que se ocasionen en la descarga del barco o del ferrocarril a la llegada a El Salvador, corretaje del barco o estaci6n de ferrocarril, a la resi- dencia del sefior Teniente Coronel Christian en San Salvador y empaque y cargo a bordo del barco o ferricarril a la partida de El Salvador al terminarse sus ser- vicios. Es entendido que en todas las partes de este Contrato en que aparece el t6rmino "familia", se refiere dnicamente a la esposa e hi- jos que dependan del sefior Te- niente Coronel Christian para su mantenimiento. - XVI- El Gobierno de El Salvador asignara en el Presupuesto del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional una suma anual de NOVECIEN- TOS DOLARES ($-900.oo), para pago de impuestos aduanales sobre articulos importados por el sefor Teniente Coronel Christian para su uso personal y para el uso de su familia, asi como para cubrir cualquier impuesto o impuestos cargados por el Gobierno de El Salvador sobre la compensaci6n, pago o pensi6n recibida por el 1310
