Claiborne, who alleges that he sustained an injury to his spine in the line of his duty while an employee of the United States Post Office in Knoxville, Tennessee, in November 1938, and his claim for compensation is authorized to be considered and acted upon under the remaining provisions of such Act, as amended, if he files such claim with the United States Employees' Compensation Commission not later than sixty days after the date of enactment of this Act. SEO. 2. The monthly compensation which the said Gerney M. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $750 to James M. Hays, of Los Angeles, California, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries sustained by him as a result of a collision between the car which he was driving, and a United States Immigration and Naturalization Service car, said collision occurring on March 2, 1940, at the inter- section of Figueroa and Fifty-seventh Streets, Los Angeles, Cali- fornia: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, June 5, 1942. [CHAPTER 370] AN ACT For the relief of Edwin L. Wade. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the pdwin L. Wade.
