INCREASE OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS

General increase of the Library: For purchase of books, miscellaneous periodicals and newspapers, photocopying supplies and photocopying labor, and all other material for the increase of the Library, including payment in advance for subscription books and society publications, and for freight and expressage, postage, commissions, and traveling expenses not to exceed $25,000, including expenses of attendance at meetings when incurred on the written authority and direction of the Librarian in the interest of collections, and all other expenses incidental to the acquisition of material for the increase of the Library by purchase, gift, bequest, or exchange, $270,000, to continue available during the next succeeding fiscal year. Increase of the law library: For the purchase of books and for legal periodicals for the law library, including payment in advance for legal periodicals and for legal society publications, and for freight and expressage, postage, commissions, traveling expenses not to exceed $2,500, including expenses of attendance at meetings when incurred on the written authority and direction of the Librarian in the interest of collections, and all other expenses incidental to the acquisition of material for the increase of the law library, $85,500, to continue available during the next succeeding fiscal year. Books for the Supreme Court: For the purchase of books and periodicals for the Supreme Court, to be a part of the Library of Congress, and purchased b ^ the Librarian of the Supreme Court, under the direction of the Chief Justice, $22,500. BOOKS FOR ADULT BLIND To enable the Librarian of Congress to carry out the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to provide books for the adult blind", approved March 3, 1931 (2 U.S.C. 135a), as amended, $1,000,000, including not exceeding $77,330 for personal services, not exceeding $200,000 for books in raised characters, and the balance remaining for sound-reproduction records and for the purchase, maintenance, and replacement of the Government-owned reproducers for soundreproduction records for the blind and not exceeding $2,000 for necessary traveling expenses connected with such service and for expenses of attendance at meetings when incurred on the written authority and direction of the Librarian; and for printing and binding. P R I N T I N G AND B I N D I N G General printing and binding: For miscellaneous printing and binding for the Library of Congress, including the Copyright Office, and the binding, rebinding, and repairing of Library books, $450,000. Printing the Catalog of Title Entries of the Copyright Office: For the publication of the Catalog of Title Entries of the Copyright Office and the decisions of the United States courts involving copyrights, $44,500. _ Printing catalog cards: For the printing of catalog cards and of miscellaneous publications relating to the distribution of catalog cards, and for duplication of catalog cards by methods other than printing, $586,500.
