CHAPTER 472 AN ACT June 27, 1952 [^- 2 706]
For the relief of Sister J u l i e Schuler.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, for the purposes of the immigration and naturalization laws, Sister Julie Schuler shall be held and considered to have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence as of the date of the enactment of this Act, upon payment of required visa fee and head tax. Upon the granting of permanent residence to such alien as provided for in this Act, the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper quota-control officer to deduct one number from the appropriate quota for the first year that such quota is available. For the relief of E d w a r d Charles Cleverley.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, in the administration of the immigration laws, the provisions of the eleventh category of section 3 of the Immigration Act of 1917, as amended (8 U.S.C. sec. 136 (e)), shall not hereafter apply to Edward Charles Cleverley, Windsor, Ontario, Dominion of Canada, with respect to any conviction or admission of the commission of any crime in his case of which the Department of Justice has knowledge on the date of enactment of this Act. CHAPTER 474 AN ACT For the relief of a a r e n c e Sudbeck.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $800 to Clarence Sudbeck, of 2426 North and South Road, Saint Louis County, Missouri, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries and medical and hospital expenses sustained as the result of an accident involving a United States Army truck, in Saint Louis, Missouri, on February 13, 1943: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved June 27, 1952.
