For an additional amount for "Salaries and expenses", $67,500. The unobligated balance of the lapsed appropriation of the Bureau of Narcotics available for the payment of salaries and expenses for the fiscal year 1948, shall be available for payment of claims settled by the General Accounting Office and otherwise chargeable to appropriations for the fiscal year 1949. For an additional amount for "Salaries and expenses", $85,000, to be derived by transfer from "Salaries and expenses, Guard Force", tiscal year 1954. CHAPTER V DEPARTMENT OF LABOR BUREAU OF EMPLOYMENT SECURITY GRANTS TO STATES FOR UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICE ADMINISTRATION

For an additional amount for "Grants to States for unemployment compensation and employment service administration," $12,100,000, which shall be available only to the extent that the Secretary finds necessary to meet increased costs of administration resulting from changes in a State law or increases in the numbers of claims filed and claims paid over those upon which the State's basic grant (or the allocation for the District of Columbia) was based, which increased costs of administration cannot be provided for by normal budgetary adjustments. UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION FOR VETERANS

For an additional amount for "Unemployment compensation for veterans", $24,400,000.
