that (1) the salary of one employee may be fixed at a basic rate of not more than $8,040 per annum, (2) the salary of one employee may be fixed at a basic rate of not more than $8,460 per annum, and (3) the salary of one employee may be fixed at a basic rate of not more than $8,880 per annum". (b) Such paragraph is further amended by adding a t the end thereof a new sentence as follows: "A Senator may establish such titles for positions in his office as he may desire to designate, by written notification to the disbursing office of the Senate." (c) The first paragraph under the heading "Administrative Provisions" in the appropriations for the Senate in the Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1957 (2 U.S.C. 60f-l) is repealed. For expenses necessary for planning, and the extension and remodeling, under the supervision of the General Services Administration, of the State Department Building, "Washington, D.C., and for expenses necessary for providing temporary office space, including payment of rent in the District of Columbia, alterations, and purchase and installation of air conditioning equipment, to remain available until expended, $3,000,000, to be transferred to the General Services Administration.
