SEC. 8. (a) Section 8(b) of the Soil Conservation and Domestic St" 143^' ^ ^ Allotment Act, as amended, is further amended by striking out the 16 USC S90h. words "in the continental United States, except in Alaska," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "in the^ States of the Union, except Alaska,". (b) Section 17(a) of the Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment 16 vie sVoW -^c^» ^^ amended, is further amended to read as follows: "This Act shall apply to the States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Kico, and the Virgin Islands, and, as used in this Act, the term 'State' includes Puerto Kico and the Virgin Islands." SEC. 9. Section 1 of the Act of A u ^ s t 28, 1937 (50 Stat. 869), as amended, is further amended by striking out the words "the United States, including the Territories of Alaska and Hawaii, and Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "the States of the United States and in Puerto Rico stnd the Virgin Islands". SEC. 10. Section 2 of the Act of September 2, 1937 (50 Stat. 917), as amended, is further amended by striking out the words "; a^d the term 'State' shall be construed to mean and include, the several States and the Territory of Hawaii". FISHERY RESOURCES

SEC 11. The Act of August 4, 1947 (61 Stat. 726), is amended— (a) by striking out the words "the Territories and island possessions of the United States" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "the United States and its island possessions" in sections 1 and 2; (b) by striking out the words "Territory of Hawaii and" in section 1; (c) by striking out the word "Territorial" and inserting in lieu thereof the wora"State" in section 3; and (d) by striking out the words "Hawaiian Islands" and "Territory of Hawaii" and inserting in lieu thereof, in both cases, the words "State of Hawaii" in section 4.
