the Department for watershed protection purposes: Provided, That this appropriation shall be available for field employment pursuant to the second sentence of section 706(a) of the Organic,Act of 1944 (5 U.S.C. 574), and not to exceed $100,000 shall be available for employment under section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a): Provided further, That not to exceed $5,000,000, together with the unobligated balance of funds previously appropriated for loans and related expense, shall be available for such purposes.

FLOOD P R E V E N T I O N
For necessary expenses, in accordance with the Flood Control Act, approved June 22, 1936 (33 U.S.C. 701-709, 16 U.S.C. 1006a), as amended and supplementedj and in accordance with the provisions of laws relating to the activities of the Department, to perform works of improvement, including funds for field employment pursuant to the second sentence of section 706(a) of the Organic Act of 1944 (5 U.S.C. 574), and not to exceed $100,000 for employment under section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a), to remain available until expended; $25,654,00*0, with which shall be merged the unexpended balances of funds heretofore appropriated or transferred to the Department for flood prevention purposes: Provided, That not to exceed $200,000, together with the unobligated balance of funds previously appropriated for loans and related expense, shall be available for such purposes.

For necessary expenses to carry into effect a program of conservation in the Great Plains area, pursuant to section 16(b) of the Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act, as added by the Act of August 7, 1956 (16 U.S.C. 590p), $18,500,000, to remain available until expended.
