For payment to Priscilla M. Ryan, widow of William F. Ryan, late a Representative from the State of New York, $42,500. SALARIES, OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OFFICE OF THE CLERK

For an additional amount for "Office of the Clerk", $283,000. CONTINGENT EXPENSES OF THE HOUSE FURNITURE

For an additional amount for "Furniture", $339,500. ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISION

The provisions of House Resolution 890, Ninety-second Congress, relating to compensation of the Clerk, the Doorkeeper, and the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives, and the Chief of Staff of the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation, shall be the permanent law only with respect to the compensation of the Clerk, the Doorkeeper, and the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives. Such House Resolution 890 shall not apply with respect to the compensation of the Chief of Staff of the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation. JOINT ITEMS CONTINGENT EXPENSES OF THE HOUSE JOINT COMMITTEE ON INTERNAL REVENUE TAXATION

For an additional amount for "Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation", $135,000. OFFICE OF THE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN

For an additional amount for the "Office of the Attending Physician", $5,000, to be available as an allowance for a medical consultant. Upon assuming his duty as Attending Physician to the United States Congress, and while so serving, the incumbent shall be considered to hold the rank of Rear Admiral, Medical Corps, United States Naval Reserve, for all purposes, and shall receive the pay and allowances with his length of service of an officer of the upper half of that grade ( 0 - 8) and when retired under any provision of law shall be advanced on the retired list to such grade and shall receive retired pay based on that grade.
