SPECIAL ACTION OFFICE FOR DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For necessary expenses of the Special Action Office for Drug Abuse Prevention, $3,000,000. PHARMACOLOGICAL RESEARCH

For necessary expenses in connection with activities authorized by section 224 of the Drug Abuse Office and Treatment Act of 1972 (Public Law 92-255), $4,000,000.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE PRESIDENT

For expenses necessary to enable the Vice President to provide assistance to the President in connection with specially assigned functions, services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109, but at rates for individuals not to exceed the per diem equivalent of the rate for grade GS-18, compensation for one position at a rate not to exceed the rate n o t5e.u s e 5332 of level II of the Executive schedule, and other personal services s use 5313 without regard to the provisions of law regulating the employment ""^ and compensation of persons in the Government service, including hire of passenger motor vehicles, $910,000. For expenses necessary for the White House Office as authorized by law, including not to exceed $3,850,000 for services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109, at such per diem rates for individuals as the President may specify, and other personal services without regard to the provisions of law regulating the employment and compensation of persons in the Government service; hire of passenger motor vehicles, newspapers, periodicals, teletype news service, and travel (not to exceed $100,000): and not to exceed $10,000 for official entertainment expenses to be available for allocation within the Executive Office of the President; $16,367,000.
