Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress^ assembled, That certain pro- Reporting revisions of law, which relate to the submission of reports to Congress m^'dffTcrtions and' or other Government authorities, are repealed as follows: repeals. (1) Section 3 of the Act entitled "An Act to authorize the expenditure of funds through grants for support of scientific research, and for other purposes", approved September 6, 1958 (72 Stat. l'^9'>; 42 U.S.C. 1893), is repealed, thereby eliminating the annual report under such Act to the appropriate committees of both Houses of Conq:ress concerning grants for basic scientific research. (2) Section 7 of the Act entitled "An Act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to construct facilities to provide water for irrigation, municipal, domestic, militarv, and other uses from the Santa Margarita River, California, and for other purposes", approved July 28, 1954 (68 Stat. 578), is repealed, thereby eliminating the report from time to time to the Congress, by the Attorney General, the Secretary of the Interior, and the Secretary of the Navy, concerning the conditions specified in section 1 of such Act involving facilities to provide water for irrigation and other uses from the Santa Margarita River, California.

(4) Chapter 256 of the Act entitled "An Act authorizing the Superintendent of the Coast and Geodetic Survey, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Commerce, to consider, ascertain, adjust, and determine claims for damage occasioned by acts for which said survey is responsible in certain cases", approved June 5, 1920 (41 Stat. 1054; 33 U.S.C. 853), is amended by striking out ", and report the amounts so ascertained and determined to be due the claimants to Congress at each session thereof through the Treasury Department for payment as legal claims out of appropriations that may be made by Congress therefor." and inserting in lieu thereof a period, thereby eliminating the annual report to Congress, through the Treasury Department, of claims not to exceed $500 settled under such Act, and
