Free Enterprise Day. Proclamation authorization.

Designating July 1, 1978, as "Free Enterprise Day".

Whereas the rapid development of America's economy is a result of the interaction of the free enterprise of our people and the abundant natural resources of our land; and Whereas the present great prosperity of the United States is based upon free enterprise; and AVhereas the principles of free enterprise are inexorably bound with our principles of individual political freedom; and Whereas the belief of Americans in the essential justice of free enterprise is being increasingly challenged throughout the world. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating July 1, 1978, as "Free Enterprise Day" and calling upon the people of the United States and interested groups and organizations to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities, < Approved June 30, 1978.
