PRIVATE LAW 97-23—JUNE 1, 1982 (b) There is reserved to the United States all oil, coal, or other minerals in the land referred to in the first section of this Act, together with the right to prospect for, mine, and remove such oil, coal, or other minerals under such rules and regulations as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, notwithstanding the provisions of title VI, section 602, of the International Claims Act of 1949, as amended, to provide for the determination of the validity and amounts of claims of nationals of the United States against the German Democratic Republic, that the Chairman of the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission or his authorized agents or representatives, is hereby authorized and directed to receive and reconsider the claim submitted by Mrs. Frieda Simonson, Jamaica, New York, and to authorize the grant of any award to which she is entitled.
