PUBLIC LAW 98-152—NOV. 15, 1983 97 STAT. 983 Public Law 98-152 98th Congress Joint Resolution Designating the week beginning November 6, 1983, as "National Disabled Veterans Nov. 15, 1983 Week". [H.J. Res. 283] Whereas there are two million three hundred thousand disabled veterans in the United States; Whereas disabled veterans have sacrificed their well-being in the service of their country; Whereas disabled veterans endure severe disabilities, such as loss of limb, paralysis, blindness, deafness, and delayed-stress syndrome; Whereas these disabled veterans consistently experience inordi- nately high rates of joblessness; and Whereas disabled veterans have made important contributions to national welfare: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in recogni- National tion of the contributions that disabled veterans have made to the y^®^^^®*^ yj ^ welfare of the United States, the week beginning November 6, 1983, is designated "National Disabled Veterans Week". The President is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon all Government agencies and the people of the United States to observe that week with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.
