3. The King holds Ambleſberie, King Edward held it. It was never aſſeſſed nor hided. There are 40 ploughlands; 16 of which, with 55 ſervants, and 1 coliberts, are in demeſne. Eighty-five villagers and 56 borderers occupy 23 ploughlands. Eight mills pay 4 pounds and 10 ſhillings. Here are 70 acres of meadow. The paſture is 6 miles long and 4 miles and a half broad. The wood is 9 miles long and 6 broad. This manor and it's appendages provides one night's entertainment for the King, with all uſual cuſtoms. The lands of three Thanes are reckoned in this manor, which they held T.R.E. Earl William gave them in Ambleſberie in exchange for Bovecome. King Edward gave 2 hides, part of this manor, in the time of his ſickneſs, to the Abbeſs of Wilton, which ſhe never poſſeſſfed before, but ſince that time ſhe has held
