Template talk:Bible versions

Template documentation edit

This template should be transcluded into all disambiguation pages for individual books of the Bible. As of this writing, Exodus, Numbers and so forth do not have pages of their own. These pages will be created with the template to assist searchers in finding the translations.

Bible/Exodus, Bible/Numbers and so forth will also be created with this template.

Discussion edit

Hebrew links edit

Each individual page should have interwiki links added to the Hebrew original versions and any other relevant non-English versions of the Bible. Shalom 02:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Link issues edit

The template should also link to the Wikipedia article on the particular book, and should not advise users to change links that point to one of these pages. This is the only page that will list all translations of a single book, and regrading it as simply a disambiguation page may not be the best course.

There is also a problem in that the template assumes that the title of each book will be the same in all translations. This is not the case. For example, the Wycliffe translation of Habakkuk is at Bible (Wycliffe)/Abacuk, and not at the same spelling. Similar spelliong variation exists for a number of Biblical books. --EncycloPetey 06:22, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
