WHEREAS the Secretary of State for Transport, being the traffic authority for the A259 Trunk Road, is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited on a length of that road for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event:

NOW, THEREFORE, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 16A(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a), hereby makes the following order:-

1.This Order may be cited as the A259 Trunk Road (Little Common Road, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 5th November 2011.

2.In this Order:

"the length of the road" means the A259 Trunk Road at Bexhill in the County of East Sussex known as Little Common Road from, and including, the roundabout at its junction with Cooden Sea Road (B2182) to the access to St Marks church;
"event" means the British Legion remembrance day procession; and
"an event period" means a period of 3 hours starting at 1000 hours on Sunday 13th November 2011 or over the same hours on any subsequent Sunday until Sunday 4th December 2011.

3.Subject as mentioned in article 4 below, no person shall, during an event period, cause or permit any vehicle to enter of proceed in the length of trunk road.

4.The provisions of article 3 above shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs or a constable, and shall not apply to -

(a) a vehicle being used for police, ambulance, fire and rescue authority or traffic officer purposes; or
(b) anything done at the direction of, or with the permission of, a constable or traffic officer in uniform.
