Jameses in the New Testament. edit
Wikipedia has the following:
- w:James, brother of Jesus = James, brother of the Lord = James the Just, listed as first bishop of Jerusalem by several early church historians
- w:James, son of Zebedee = James the Greater, an apostle
- w:James the Less
- w:James, son of Alphaeus, also an apostle
Wikipedia notes that the opinion of most is that w:James the Less = w:James, son of Alphaeus. Some people dispute this but that's okay, it's still better than the situation at John the Evangelist.
Jerome says that there are two Jameses:
- w:James, son of Zebedee = James the Greater
- w:James, brother of Jesus = w:James the Less = w:James, son of Alphaeus.
