Tolkappiyam in its part 3 speaks about the life-style and literature of the Tamils. The author of the work approaches in social entity. According to him the public emotions are eight-folded emerging from 32 source-emotions. The personal emotions manifest in the part of an lady in mutual love develop by six stages. Among the ten kinds of developments of emotions spoken in Sanskrit, he omitted four which are not reciprocal. After discussing feminine-emotions, he speaks about some common-emotions relevant to personal and public.
