Proofreading edit

Please note that, during proofreading,

  1. Running header, containing book/chapter name and page number, is to be placed in the page header, not body.
  2. Line breaks within a paragraph need to be removed.
  3. A blank line should be inserted between two paragraphs.
  4. You can check Special:diff/8903286 for the changes I have made.

With best wishes, Hrishikes (talk) 10:56, 1 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Hrishikes: Thanks. I will check Special:diff/8903286 --Abhinav619 (talk) 10:57, 1 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Hrishikes: Are footnotes being done correctly. Can you please show me for one page here --Abhinav619 (talk) 07:59, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done. Also, straight quotes are house rule, not curly ones. You need to italicize the words when they are such in scan. Hrishikes (talk) 09:56, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank You ! @Hrishikes: --Abhinav619 (talk) 11:02, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Hrishikes: Footnotes are not breaking into two paragraphs here --Abhinav619 (talk) 05:56, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
  Done -- special measures required for page-spanning footnotes. See the edit diff. Hrishikes (talk) 06:46, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Validating edit

You are Validating pages very quickly. You are checking carefully that each page matches the scanned original? --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:26, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

For instance, here you missed a paragraph break that should have been present. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:28, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

@EncycloPetey: Thanks for writing. I actually read them on my tablet last night and today morning I was making the changes. Thanks for making the changes, I should be more careful. --Abhinav619 (talk) 05:29, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Reading them is not enough. Validating means that they have been compared against the original scan. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:30, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: I would stop right here and re-check for any mistake that I have made. Thanks for pointing out.--Abhinav619 (talk) 05:31, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have already spotted a missing paragraph break and two pages where the page number was missing. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:33, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: I am sorry. I am new here and didn't understand. I am going to look at each and every page again. Extremely sorry and thanks for pointing. --Abhinav619 (talk) 05:34, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Useful templates edit

You may find {{fqm}} and {{longdash}} useful, such as here. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:13, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank You @EncycloPetey: I was searching the same. --Abhinav619 (talk) 04:14, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: I was trying to search in the manual here--Abhinav619 (talk) 04:15, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

It looks like that page needed both a longdash and an emdash. I have the character insertion tool active in my editing window, and it allows me to insert the emdash —. If you do not have this feature active, there is a discussion [[1]] that explains how to activate this feature. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:23, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Connecting pages edit

Take a note of these changes.

  • The title displays in the link (not the page name
  • The year is included as a parameter
  • The link to the "previous" does not need the full page name

@EncycloPetey: Thank You, I am learning here. --Abhinav619 (talk) 04:26, 26 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: I have completed the book here. Can you please check. It may be displayed under new text on the main page.--Abhinav619 (talk) 16:04, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
It is not completely finished yet. The page listing the illustrations has not been proofread yet. Also, the Index is not yet done. --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:25, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
