Advowson. Hi,This is fine. It just wants a bit of tweaking and a proof-read against the original text, which I can do if you don't have access to a printed copy. I have added a text quality box to the Advowson discussion page. As a matter of interest, where did you source this text from? If you have not done so, please see the EB1911 project page and sign up as a contributor if you are interested. Kind regards. Apwoolrich 14:01, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Gutenburg text is a bit out of kilter for the paragraphing and the italicising of certain phrases - book titles and the like. As a general rule we regard all online OCR texts for this EB1911 project as being probably suspect and not always accurate. I will proof this later tonight (about 9.00pm UK time) Have a look at the EB 1911 Music article for a good example of WS EB1911 markup of a long article, and the Bible ones, which came in yesterday, for those needing editing!! WS markup can be more complex than writing prose on WP so I am helping create various Help pages for WS use. Please comment and add. Kind regards. Apwoolrich 14:15, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wikisource:Islam edit

Hi, I actually work for Archive.org (where your linked Maqamat came from, for example) - and by odd coincidence, I created Author:Abu al-Hariri just two weeks ago (after handling a 1767 translation of the same book) - so if/when you do get the Maqamat online, be sure to link it there! Many of the works hosted on WS:Islam unfortunately do not have true "source texts" against which they can be easily proofread, coming from a variety of websites of alternating legitimacy (Project Gutenberg to Allah.com). My original source for the Incoherence was here and for the Harmony here it seems. Neither provide actual page-scans unfortunately - and I cannot find existing copies of either on Archive.org - and the University of Toronto libraries don't appear to have any pre-1923 translations hanging around either (thus limiting my ability to put one online just for you). I assume you've found The Development Of Metaphysics In Persia and others on Archive.org which include both (non-proofread) TXTs through OCR and actual page images? Similarly, this may be of some interest to you since I see a work of his on your list. I'll try to drop into your project in a week or so, most likely to help you proof The Jew, The Gypsy and El Islam since I am the creator of Portal:Judaism, Portal:Gypsies, Portal:Islam and Author:Richard Francis Burton :D Sherurcij Collaboration of the Week: Pulitzer-winning writings 10:09, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
