pages index tag edit

Interesting solution. A commento only: when trasncluding, you can use too a sequence of pages index tags, but you've to avoid new lines into the list, so avoiding a new line that is added by software at the end of each page index tag if it is written into a new line. --Alex brollo (talk) 14:45, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

redundant? edit

Is it time to retire this page now that we have the ability to use ref name= and ref follow= combination and look to how we can identify the pages that utilise this methodology? — billinghurst sDrewth 02:13, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Thanks for the poke; I'll have a think about that. Hesperian 00:52, 7 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think I've got this figured out. I'll produce a list of Page-namespace pages that transclude other Page-namespace pages. I expect it would contain nothing but old-style overflows and sundry errors. Hesperian 07:14, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sweet. I look forward to the output. — billinghurst sDrewth 07:25, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
It didn't work! The output is a fascinating motley crew of pages that do need to be looked at, but the old-school overflows don't appear therein. In hindsight it is obvious why: the noinclude tag prevents them from being transcluded until mainspace. Hesperian 04:07, 15 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've solved it now but the server keeps breaking during the run. This is all I've managed to get so far... not much, but at least I'm on the right track now....
