Copyright edit

Hi. Thank you for your contribution of Iggeret Teiman. Unfortunately, the translation is from 1952, so the text may be copyrighted. Do you have any reason to think it is not? Danny 12:33, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your clarification and for the great work tracking all that information down! Danny 00:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Single Page View edit

Your presentation of Iggeret Teman is fabulous, and thank you for a fantastic job.

One question on a detail: It seems to me it would have been easier to present the entire epistle on a single page, and might be easier on the reader too. (That way, for instance, s/he could search the entire text or scroll up and down.) Suggestion: Would you mind some minor tinkering to the pages (like putting "noinclude" on the headers and changing paragraph signs), which would allow the whole thing to be transcluded to a single-page view? This would be in addition to the single pages, not instead of them. Dovi 20:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

P.S. What exactly is the function of the

signs before I tinker with them? Dovi 03:34, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Book of Principles edit

Hi. Thanks for your response on Epistle to Yemen.

As for Albo, I am very familiar with the translation you refer to. Not only that, but I even have a few chapters typed and proofread. If I remember correctly, the book was first published even earlier than 1946, but it has been a long time since I checked the details. Some copyright justification will be needed here too.

Here, even more than for the Epistle, I would highly suggest uploading the text according to Albo's chapters, not according to the page divisions of the publisher. This is not only because it is the most useful division, but also to allow easy language links to the Hebrew, which will be uploaded according to Albo's own division too. (Do note that it is possible to insert invisible or visible page-break markers into a running text as well, which can be linked to directly for convenience.)

How do you plan to do it? OCR? Other? This might be a good book to have uploaded as images to Commons as well. I unfortunately do not have a copy of the Husik edition at home, though I can find it at my library. Dovi 03:34, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Books at Commons edit

Sorry, you asked earlier whether it is appropriate to upload page-by-page book images at the Commons. Actually, this has been done for a number of Wikisource texts. In English, this includes the 1911 Brittanica and the New Student's Reference. Dovi 19:56, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Book of Principles, continued edit

Hi! Haven't heard from you recently.

Is anything happening with Albo's Book of Principles? In the meantime, I have uploaded the old English translations of the Kuzari and Maimonides' Guide to the Perplexed (still in progress). It would be amazing if we could link from Albo's book to the previous two. Dovi 10:50, 12 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
