Please stop creating shell pages edit

Please stop creating shell page for works or for authors. If you have content to add, or wish to create links, that is fine, however, shell pages without content are not fine. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:32, 27 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

At the moment I am seeing you clunking around with edits, numbers of which are not productive, leaving a trail of muddy foot prints for others to clean. Please read our guides to editing above. If you have questions, then please ask them at Wikisource:Scriptorium. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:38, 27 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Talk (solved) edit

Excuse me sir,

All the empty pages will be completed with the files that are being moved from other sources for Wikisource. There are some extracted files that need to be modified before being indexed inside the template.

Rafaeladasilvamelo

I am not trying to be gross to anyone. It has been our experience that empty pages, and headers on empty pages are a problem. When you have content, please feel free to create the pages, the headers and add the content. If there is no content at that time, then please wait until you have content. If you are needing assistance, or advice, we encourage new users to ask at Wikisource:Scriptorium/Help. If you are looking to see our best practices for reproducing works, then there are links in the welcome message above, or you can ask at the Help page. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:39, 29 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Please please please stop the type of editing that you are doing. We don't need more red links on author pages. We don't need formatting removed. We don't need author descriptions that are biographical. Please read the help pages and the style guides, look at what other contributors are doing. I would suggest that you work on some transcriptions and suggest that you look to contribute to the WS:POTM, especially as we are about to start a new one in the next couple of days. — billinghurst sDrewth 08:37, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry. I will to stop try to do anything here.

I am not exactly new here. Since 2010 I have participated in lists of discussions and numerous projects of the Wikipédia and Wikibooks. I also edited a few pages of wikipidia using another account I lost. I will follow your suggestions and start transcribing those and other works that were already on my list.

I do not want be a so-and-so person to you, Rafaeladasilvamelo

Mars. III. Canals edit

Whenever texts are added to Wikisource, we ask the contributors to identify the source of the added text. Without the source of the text, there is no means of judging the accuracy or the authenticity of the contribution. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:26, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates unless the required maintenance has been completed. In accordance with WS policy, unsourced texts may be deleted. --EncycloPetey (talk) 21:15, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Of course! This is the text link that I am typing and inserting into that page: https://ia802506.us.archive.org/18/items/atlantic76bostuoft/atlantic76bostuoft.pdf Could you help me in editing the template and inserting numbering on the pages? --Rafaeladasilvamelo (talk)

Index:The Atlantic Monthly, Volume 76.djvu is now set up. You can proofread the individual pages without having to type in the text. --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:00, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

A Dictionary of Saintly Women edit

This work has been converted over to the newer ProofreadPage system. Help:Proofread explains how to use it. If you want to continue contributing to it, you can transcribe text from facsimiles directly at Index:A Dictionary of Saintly Women Volume 1.djvu and Index:A Dictionary of Saintly Women Volume 2.djvu. You can see an example of how an article gets assembled from these page scans at A Dictionary of Saintly Women/Adelaide (3). If you have any questions, you can ask them at Wikisource:Scriptorium/Help.

Also, it's best to wait until you're done with a chapter or an article or whatever before submitting it. For example, the placeholder you made for the article about Saint Agatha, Special:Diff/8818363, might cause a reader to think that that's all the author wrote about her, but she wrote a whole article.

Thank you for your contributions. Prosody (talk) 05:59, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Last try to communicate about our scope, style and quality edit

Hello. There have now been five administrators interacting with you, and having to revert your edits, as your edits do not align with the scope, style, or quality that we are trying to achieve. The documentation in the welcome message above talks and directs to the scope, style and quality. There are numerous pointers within our attempts to communicate.

  • We source our works, as we are producing editions, and demonstrating that they are in the public domain;
  • We transcribe to our available and verifiable sources, attempting to be to the best quality reproduction;
  • We have a standard display means for the main namespace, utilising headers, descriptions and navigation.

Unfortunately repeatedly we are not seeing this with your edits. It is not sustainable for you or for us to have to so heavily intervene, or to leave edits that are outside of our scope and goals. We either need to significantly have you shift your editing, or you need to stop. We can hopefully find someone to guide and assist if that is of interest. If that is not the case, then maybe English Wikisource is not the place to you. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:20, 21 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good morning, there are source that are in public domain starting in the last five years. I'm transcribing just text that someone starting and no finnished yet or with errors. I did a lot of corrections, I think that you are not looking my work. I'm not enjoying your comments because there are not help me, you are just putting me down. You need help with my job or stay in your place. unsigned comment by Rafaeladasilvamelo (talk) .
The place to correct the text and to create sections of the work are the pages linked from Index:A Dictionary of Saintly Women Volume 1.djvu. I am looking at all the work that you are doing. Please tell me how our advice is not useful and we can look to assist. We have help pages linked above, which are not assisting? The community is here to teach you. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:18, 23 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

A Dictionary of Saintly Women redux edit

I see that despite the requests further up this page to desist that you are still creating pages for this work without the required additional materials. I will try to explain differently in the hope that you will be able to comply with the basic requirements of the English Wikisource.

  • All pages in the Mainspace must have a header that has been completed as accurately as possible.
  • In this work, the previous and next fields of the header must be filled in with links to the articles on either side of the one being created.
  • There are scans available for this work and therefore we require that they be used as the source of the text for each article. When scans are available in Wikisource, we do not accept external versions.
  • When scans are available, we require contributors to proofread within the Index: & Page: namespaces. Prosody has given you some links to the relevant Help pages and has provided several examples that you can follow as a guide on how to correctly contribute.

Please comply with these requirements and stop creating pages that do not meet our basic standards. Noncompliance will result in an enforced break from editing at English Wikisource. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 23:38, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Reached a turning point edit

Hi. It is time to rein in your editing, you are making edits that are just wrong. If you look at your edits Special:Contributions/Rafaeladasilvamelo for 16 Oct, they are changing the nature of existing works. You created pages that I have already deleted that would appear to something that should be categories. In your edits you have not explained in the edit summary why you are making the changes, and you are changing the nature of the pages. If you do not understand the nature of a page, then please come to either WS:Scriptorium or WS:Scriptorium/Help and ask about the pages or the edits that you wish to make. Users here should not need to be continually following your edits to be cleaning up, you need to learn to come and ask questions.

I have placed a three day block on your editing, and I now expect you to converse. Your editing has been discussed among administrators and there is a general agreement that the style is to be followed. I don't expect that you will wish to talk with me, so please {{ping}} on of the others on this page who have looked to talk to you. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:59, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, you can't do it.

The Adventures of Ann edit

hi, nice work. i have uploaded the work from internet archive, and created an index here: Index:The adventures of Ann; stories of colonial times.djvu i would invite you to proofread the pages there, and we can transclude them into the work page you created. cheers. Slowking4SvG's revenge 04:31, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

What is your source for the text? The source needs to be identified so that the work can be proofread and corrected. As it stands, you're putting in a lot of errors, such as "To to 00 feet" which makes no sense and is clearly a typo. Without a source to compare against, it will be impossible to make corrections. --EncycloPetey (talk) 17:39, 20 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

The text source is an external scan. I'll put it in that specific field. Thank you for the tips! I'll will correct the errors.
