Something new

   and {{gap|0.5em}} give the same effect for me but they might not match the width of a digit if anybody manages to set their font to something other than Arial. {{phantom|0}} seems to me to be the most robust method.--Laverock ( Talk ) 16:35, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

I'm into Psychology so I plan on eventually doing projects of uploading "Journal of Experimental Psychology" and "Journal of Educational Psychology" if that seems to interest you. Since they're journals I'm probably going to need to make them wikiprojects. I also start school and work this week so who knows how much time I'll have in the upcoming future. Thanks, about that, if you notice I made a few transparent, to the ones that worked well, this allows it to look better on different backgrounds. The ones I have seen looked good but since you are editing them I would like to suggest that you do whichever you can do best so that the images will look their best. Your user name is interesting too. I think cauld is old British for "cold". I know people named Cauldwell (cold well). Clockery, in the above statements, is also right about you working fast. Rochefoucauld, how soon do you think you can have the rest of the images completed for History of Yachting? I wish to get the book completed. Rochefoucauld, moments ago you completed a page of Native Flowers of New Zealand and I have validated it. Would you please consider doing some more of those pages? That is a rare book that would cost $650 according to administrator Beeswaxcandle who lives there in New Zealand. To get it placed on en.WS is a very good achievement since not even the libraries in New Zealand have this book except one and it is in the rare books division, old and foxed and a person cannot check it out of that section. Question/Reconciliation

Hello.

I clearly got off on the wrong foot with you regarding the scriptorium debacle. However, let me please use this example to (I genuinely hope) clear the air. I pretend to be no kind of expert in copyright; so expect to learn things as we proceed here as well.

You recently tagged File:A Hittite Prince Hunting.png to be moved to Commons. Whilst I accept that at one level, I remain uncomfortable with the fact that the author of the 1914 publication containing this image died in 1936; which (as I understand—please correct me) makes it possibly ineligible (as we have no way of proving the artistic provenance of the image itself!) to be accepted at Commons.

Do you see what a total pain the backside this whole issue is? Thus my complaint that it has not been adequately thought out before being shoved in front of the volunteers and wasting all of our efforts?

Now even the basic research required to compose this note wasted between 5 and 10 minutes of my life I will not see again. This is what makes me so very angry about this matter. It really isn't aimed at you, and I am sorry if you took it that way. User:Prosfilaes on the other hand has been around long enough to know so much better and is entirely deserving of my comprehensive disdain. AuFCL (talk) 00:09, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Want to pull the imagges for this? Archive.org has the original jp2 scans (https://ia902608.us.archive.org/20/items/evolutionofworld00lowerich/evolutionofworld00lowerich_raw_jp2.zip), which Ifranview can open up very easily once extracted.

@ShakespeareFan00: No, I must of forgot it; The extraction process is very tricky as i'm extracting it from Internet Archive identifier: athleticsmanlysp00orei because it contains all images. Images are extracted from a different scan and the page numbers are extremely difficult and make in very confusing, so it's going to take some time. hmm..looks interesting. I'm trying to figure out how I would go about the clustered images such as...https://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=File:The_Cutter%27s_Practical_Guide_1898_Edition_Part_1.djvu&page=102 would it be better off making it all one file or individual? Also I noticed that the quality of scan is really bad and that someone started making svg files of the image https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:The_Cutter%27s_Practical_Guide,_1898_-_Part_1 which probably took them 2 hours for each image...I can see why it was abandoned. Single image plates would be acceptable, The thought behind SVG was to try and get these into being usable patterns again, but that's a much longer-term project (And commons doesn't support DXF :( )

Image Extraction task =

Index : Index:String Figures and How to Make Them.djvu Category : String Figures and How to Make Them (1906)

If I was to extract the images from the djvu version the images would be greatly distorted. (Example). On the other-other hand the images are rendered better on the 1906 edition(pdf) in google books but the photographs in that edition aren't as good...Also it's a collection of 860+ Figs.; It's doable but would take some time. On the other hand using the 1906 version would produce better results than from a website that's already tried to transcribe the source.--Rochefoucauld (talk) 01:09, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Seen you around editing though we haven't crossed paths. I was welcoming and assisting a new contributor and they asked me about a reversion to an edit. While I could see some components of the edit that may differ from style guide, I didn't understand a revert for the good components. Thanks for you additions and corrections to the authors names. Personally, I use the full name in the display segment of the link even if it's not so in the Page namespace. The reason being is to provide the reader instant information.— Ineuw talk 06:46, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Fancy dresses described

Hi can you comment here on whether the images you extracted should be inlined? see Talk:Fancy dresses described/A

I hadn't initally inlined them because given the arrangment used it looked ugly in the text flow (especially as at the time the images hadn't been extracted.
