Hi there, I saw your edits to the proofread of the month and thought I'd come and give you a hello that isn't a template! I notice you're a bit of an Easter Island enthusiast, if you have a few moments we'd definitely be happy for someone to look over various EI-related material such as this and this. And please remember, if you have any questions or need a hand, my talkpage or the Scriptorium is only a click away. I hope you enjoy your occasional visits here, and hope they become more than occasional! MichelleG (talk) 09:58, 19 April 2011 (UTC).Reply
Thanks, I hadn't encountered either of those documents before, and I was intrigued to see that the EB1911 said the island had probably once been wooded as the impression that modern books give is that the treeless nature of Easter island was one of its great mysteries in the first couple of centuries of European contact. Also it was great to read a contemporary write up of the Routledges trip, I have her book and the more recent ones reference her findings. I fixed one typo, would be happy to read any more Easter Island stuff if it comes up - best to message me on EN wiki. On the proofreading front I have had a bot written for me on EN wiki that looks for easily confused words such as posses, preform and the like, and gives a list of prospects. The advantage over normal searches is that you can set safe words and safe phrases, if that sounds like it might be useful here, look at this, I'm sure DeltaQuad the bot owner would run it here if requested.
