This category was created for Canadian judicial decisions. I was wondering if this category should be renamed to something like "Canadian judicial decisions," since its present name doesn't, at first glance, have any apparent connection to what it's supposed to contain. Move article

Just need someone with the correct permissions to move the page: Wikisource:Baha'ism to Wikisource:Bahá'í Faith. It is the article title for the English language project: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahá'í_Faith and there is a little note about Baha'ism at the bottom of the top section in that article as well. "fading from use" is not a good reason to move something, phrases fall in and out of use constantly, renaming based on popular useage trends is not a wise idea. Similar to Wikisource:Buddhism, Wikisource:Christianity, Wikisource:Adventism , Wikisource:Cathars, Wikisource:Christadelphians, Wikisource:Deism, Wikisource:Mennonites, Wikisource:Mormonism, Wikisource:Quakers, Wikisource:Roman Catholicism ,Wikisource:Hinduism, Wikisource:Islam, Wikisource:Judaism, and Wikisource:Wicca - I dont' think it's really a wise idea to start adding "faith" to the end of the index titles. "Christian faith" or "Deist traditions" just becomes cumbersome - we're looking for the "easiest possible title" for each one, and I personally feel that Baha'ism fits that. The Bahá'í Faith is the most wildly used term to describe that religion. The official website for the Bahá'í Faith [1] uses the term: "Bahá'í Faith". In your examples: Buddhism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, etc. are all accepted and widely used terms, even used by the religions themselves. To do something different for the Bahá'í Faith would be discrimination. The reason the term "Baha'ism" is fading from use is not because of a trend like you say but because as more people become educated to the religion they see that "Bahá'í Faith" is it's actual name, so they call it that. Google results for Baha'ism = 26,600. Google results for "Bahá'í Faith" = 847,000. T0lk 09:24, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

WIkisource:Bahá'í is fine with me. Though it's used like this: a Bahá'í is a follower of the Bahá'í Faith. Like Wikisource:Buddhist? What are others thoughts. T0lk 18:22, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Popes

I noticed that all the authorpages of the popes have been renamed so as to removed the title "Pope" from the authorpage title. This could cause some confusion in the future. For example, Pope Alexander I's page is simply "Alexander I", which is also the name of a Macedonian king, king of Scotland, emperor of Russia, prince of Bulgaria, etc. (For a complete list, see this disambiguation page.) Given that list, removing "Pope" makes no real difference in the ambiguity of "Alexander I". We will have to use a disambiguation page eventually and move this to something like Alexander I (Vatican) or Aleander I (Pontiff). Or we could move it there now and have Alexander I a redirect until there is need for a disambig page.--BirgitteSB 00:02, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Renaming articles

I would like some help renaming some articles. I have just discovered that part 1 of A survey of Danish literature was in another volume. So the article I have named part 1 is actually part 2, and part 2 is actually part 3 and so on. I need A survey of Danish literature part 3 to be renamed A survey of Danish literature part 4, A survey of Danish literature part 2 renamed to A survey of Danish literature part 3 and A survey of Danish literature part 1 renamed to A survey of Danish literature part 2. Making pre-loading gadget work

Also have a look at w:Category:Wikisource link templates. From the WP side for a distinctive box, we regularly use {{Wikisource}} and {{Wikisource-author}} where the reference at WikiSource is a major focus of the WP page. Generally that would be placed in EXTERNAL SOURCES or REFERENCES. -- billinghurst (talk) 04:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
For Bible, Book of Mormon, and other {{verse}} formatted texts, there's also w:Template:Sourcetext. Unfortunately, people seem to prefer being able to link to copyright violations and non-public domain copies, so I bowed out of the entire debate of replacing their Bible template with links to here several years ago. Author:Francis Andrew March (Sr. or Jr.?)

There were two men named Francis Andrew March, father and son, but the text for Francis Andrew March included here at Wikisource, dated 1914, can hardly be by the father, since he died in 1911. Even so, there is no clear evidence that the text here is by the son, either. This situation needs correction, but I don't know enough to make any actual correction.

This page provides biographical information about the father, who died in 1911, so I suspect that it might be by the son, but of course the 1914 book might have material from the father. Without the paper book, I am not sure how this can be resolved. --Davidt8 (talk) 14:18, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
I would presume so too. I believe that the book is 1901. You can find a scan of the original at [2] and go to p.1168. Note that with works, our aim is to reproduce the text as we find it in the work. So if you have interpretation or clarification, such should appear in the Notes, or as a wikilink to your reference.-- billinghurst (talk) 14:31, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
It seems to me that the page I am looking at shows the content of the book at p.1168 about Professor March, but that is no indication that March wrote anything in that book. My mistake, nothing needs to be done. Thanks for your clarification, though. --Dthomsen8 (talk) 16:16, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Principia Discordia article

The article at Principia Discordia is missing all the images. Were they deleted? How can I tell if they were? I have a copy of them, so I can upload them, but when I try it says that I can't. The typography and images make it hard to convert to text, so they are really needed. Mr. Quickling (talk) 03:31, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

It does not look like the files were ever uploaded to WikiSource, though I cannot tell whether they were loaded to Commons. As we can have a native file link to Commons images, I would encourage you to load them to Commons if they are not covered by a copyright, and as necessary, amend the links on those pages. -- billinghurst (talk) 07:10, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Editing question

I have been working on Easton’s Bible Dictionary. I have a question about format. Several of the articles have a variety of sections, referring to different people or places with the same name. For example: Saul

I have put subheadings into some of these, such as Altar. I did this so that the link in another article will go to the correct kind of Altar.

Is this an appropriate revision of the original text or not?

Multiples of meanings ... You could do this in a couple of ways, longitudinally on a page for all meanings, or a page for each meaning (and probably with disambiguation).
The presentation of a work will depend on the project discussion or by the agreement on the talk page. We look to maintain the original text, though we don't always exactly reproduce a work, eg. through splitting SBDEL. If there is a good reason, and it makes it more readable, then it sounds okay. Another thought would be to use something like {{Sidenotes begin}}, {{Left sidenote}} and {{Sidenotes end}} and put the navigational outside the text on the page
To address the linking to anchors, you can utilise Template:Anchor which is used like {{anchor|linkylink}}. -- billinghurst (talk) 07:16, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Numbered list question

I'm trying to produce a numbered list that spans across several pages; however, using # results in a new list starting at 1 for each page. Is there a way around this? Thanks DroEsperanto (talk) 09:23, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

I am no expert, so my limited experience only ... w:Wikipedia:Lists#Numbered lists is the best guide to using # for lists that I know. You could code it with traditional <li> formula like at numbered lists. Generally I have just done manual numbering. We could look to play around with the {{#switch}} parser function, however, manual numbering simply doesn't fail. -- billinghurst (talk) 11:45, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

I was proofreading the page Page:An introduction to linear drawing.djvu/16 and noticed that there seems to be two spaces after the period and before the following text "The translator".

Total noob here wants a file deleted

Hi there, I've 13,000 edits or more on en.wiki, but don't know anything about this place.
