They were not only courteous to him, but were even respectful and deferential. At about 2 o’clock Mahatmaji entered his car with his devoted wife, Pandit Malaviya, Banker and Mrs. Naidu. The eager crowds standing in front of the court house attempted to shout “Mahatma Gandhiki jai”, but be stopped it by his mighty finger. Thus disappeared from our midst, for a time the great saint and ancient leader, after delivering through him to the world, ‘India’s message of Truth and Non-violence’.
