MENÉNDEZ Y PELAYO, MARCELINO (1856-1912), Spanish scholar and critic (see 18.128), was at the time of his death working at the second edition of his Historia de los heterodoxos espanoles. He died at Santander May 19 1912, and bequeathed his valuable Library of 40,000 volumes to that town.
