A Dictionary of All Religions and Religious Denominations/Anabaptists

*ANABAPTISTS, (re-baptizers,) a sect which arose in the time of Luther's Reformation in Germany, and excited various insurrections, under pretence of erecting the kingdom of Christ on earth.[1] See Fifth Monarchy Men. It is but justice to remark, that this sect agreed scarcely in any thing with the modern Baptists, except in the circumstances of rejecting infant baptism, and practising immersion. See Baptists.
