A Dictionary of All Religions and Religious Denominations/Daleites

*DALEITES, the followers of David Dale, a very industrious manufacturer, a most benevolent Christian, and the humble pastor of an independent congregation at Glasgow. At first he formed a connexion with the Glassites, in may of whose opinions he concurred; he separated from them, chiefly on the ground of preferring practical to speculative religion and christian charity to severity of church discipline. As he grew rich by industry, he devoted all his property to doing good, and ranks high among the philanthropists of his age.[1]
