MANASSEH. This name is used in two ways in the Book of Mormon: (1) For the kingdom or people of Israel (II Nephi, 19:21), in a quotation from the writings of Isaiah; and (2) for the son of Joseph, in the statement (Alma, 10:3) that Lebi was one of this patriarch's descendants.
