DICAS (THOMAS), bookseller in London, (1) Bell in St. Paul's Churchyard; (2) Hen & chickens, St. Paul's Churchyard. 1660-69. In 1660 he joined James Allestree, q.v., and John Martin. Smyth's Obituary, p. 80, has this record of him: "6 Febry. [1669] Tho Dicas bookseller, died at midnight of a consumption, much indebted. He was partner in some books with Mr. Martin and Mr. Alestry." Letters of administration of his effects were taken out in April by Thomas Johnson, the principal creditor. [P.C.C. Admon.
