HOPE (WILLIAM) bookseller in London, (1) Glove in Cornhill, 1636; (2) Unicorn near the Royal Exchange in Cornhill, 1639-40; (3) the Blew Anchor at the back-side of the Roiall Exchange, 1657; (4) Blue Anchor Old Exchange; (5) Near the Exchange, 1657; At the Anchor over against St. Bartholomew's Church, near the Royal Exchange, 1665 (1634-65). Took up his freedom October 4th, 1630. First book entry April 14th, 1636. [Arber, iii. 686; iv. 360.] In partnership for a time with Edward Farnham. Bought books of Robert Bryson, of Edinburgh, q. v.
