A Dictionary of the Booksellers and Printers who Were at Work in England, Scotland and Ireland from 1641 to 1667/Nicholas (Augustine)

NICHOLAS (AUGUSTINE), printer in London, 1649/50. On the 8th March, 1650, the attention of the House of Commons was drawn to a book entitled The Doctrine of the Fourth Commandment. Nicholas, who was examined about the matter, stated that he was servant to Gertrude Dawson, who printed the book for James Oakeford. It may be presumed, therefore, that Nicholas was a workman in her service. [Commons Journals, vol. 6, p. 378.]
