A Dictionary of the Booksellers and Printers who Were at Work in England, Scotland and Ireland from 1641 to 1667/Sadler (Theodore)

SADLER (THEODORE), bookseller in London, (1) Bible, over against the little North Door of St. Paul's Church, 1660; (2) Next door to the Golden Dolphin, over against Exeter House in the Strand, 1663; (3) Little Britain, 1666 (1660-6.) Probably a relative of Laurence Sadler, q.v., whom he seems to have succeeded. At the outset of his career he was in partnership with T. Davies at the Bible in St. Paul's Churchyard. He is mentioned in the Hearth Tax Roll for the half-year ending Lady Day, 1666, as a bookseller in Little Britain. [P.R.O. Lay Subsidy, 252/32]
