בהק (b. h. in בהק; בה, v. בהי) to shine with a pale light, be white, glisten. Bekh. 45b בוהק one glistening (with unsteady eyes, albino), diff. fr. לבן white-complected. בהקן m. (בהק) one afflicted with bohak (Lev. XIII, 39), one having an eruption resembling leprosy, v. בוהק. Gen. R. s. 98 וכ׳ ב׳ שהוא מי one who is a bahakan is hot- tempered. Pl. בהקנין. Ib. (ed. בוה׳) ב׳ בהן ריבה (ref. to Gen. XLIX, 7) he let rise among them a large number of bohakanin (hot-tempered men). V. next w.

בהרת f. (b. h., בהר) bright white spot on the skin, eventually one of the symptoms of leprosy. Neg. I, 1 כשלג עזה ב׳ bahereth means an intensively bright spot (sparkling) like snow. Ib. II, 1 וכ׳ עזה ב׳ an intensely bright spot appears faint on the skin of a Germanus (Teuton), and the faint spot appears bright on a Cushite; (Sifra Thazr., Neg. ch. I, ed. Weiss כג׳, ככ׳; Yalk. Lev. 551 גרדמ׳, corr. בגרמ׳, בכושי); a. fr. -- Pl. בהרות. Neg. VII, 1. Ib. VIII, 6; Tosef. ib. III, 12.

בהת, בהית (בה, v. בהי) 1) (=h. בוש, cmp. דוץ a. רהט) 1) to be confoundedd, abashed, ashamed. Targ. O. Gen. XLIX, 8; a. fr. -- Y. Shek. I, beg. 45d (in Hebr. phraseol.) נבהית ולא נקרא הן (Bab. ed. נבעית . . . הנקרא) can we read this and not feel ashamed? Y. Keth. XII, 35a top; Y. Kil. IX, 32b top, if I rise among the righteous, נבהת לא Imay not feel ashamed. Ib. בעבדאי בהית אנא ומה (read בעובדיי) why should I be ashamned of my doings? Y. Kidd. IV, 65c top וכ׳ בהתין they are ashamed of one another. Y. Orl. I, 61b top ביה מסתכל בהית is ashamed to look at him. Lev.
